SourceLast month AMD launched two FX-9000 series microprocessors, aimed at high-end consumer market. The FX processors were planned to be shipped in desktop PCs first, and eventually become available in retail as boxed products. The CPUs boasted extremely high base clock frequencies, but they also had very price and power consumption. When launched, the FX processors were expected to perform as overclocked FX-8350 SKU, and recently posted benchmarks of the FX-9590 confirmed these expectations. Last weekend both CPUs finally appeared in stock in one of well-known US online stores, TigerDirect.com. What's more, the FX-9370 and FX-9590 are also shipped in iBUYPOWER gaming PCs, offered by the store.
But, with very high frequency comes a high price. According to multiple reports, the FX-9370 and FX-9590 were initially listed by TigerDirect for $319 and $829 respectively. At this time, only the FX-9370 is available in stock, priced at $353.34. If building PCs is not your forte, then you can buy ready-to-use iBUYPOWER desktop computer with either FX-9370 or FX-9590, although you may need to wait up to 30 days to get it. iBUYPOWER gaming PC with AMD FX-9590, 16GB DDR3, 1TB HDD, 120GB SSD, and 3GB ATI Radeon HD 7970 graphics card will set you back $2,637. Computers with the FX-9370 microprocessor are significantly cheaper, ranging in price from $1109 to $1592, depending on the type and/or size of supplied memory, disk drive and GPU.
