See this rig for $2637 with a 9590, compare it with a similarly spec'd rig and you'll see they really are selling it for $800+.

Yes, that 9370 rig has a 7870 in it, the rest of the specs are the same, so do the math to account for the $1000 difference. Only differences are processor and video card.
I noticed those prices. I still don't know where they're coming from. Who is tigertirect and why is he credible? Why is he alone with prices? No one else with prices? No prices from AMD? What's going on? Who am I?

This made me laugh out loud.

So are these chips worthy for someone waiting to upgrade his AMD 965 C3?

I was planning on waiting for IB-E.

You being serious? 9370 is out of stock, it says so in the listing.

Every article starting with the initial rumor stated that "Centurion" would be an $800 chip.

The rumor turned out to be true, the proof is in the pudding. Whether you want to see it or not is a whole different story.

Google FX-9590, and you'll see what I mean.

So what I wonder, is now that AMD is aggressively binning CPUs are we still going to be seeing as many fx8320's that can OC as far. Its like the silicon lottery has been rigged for failure.

That's the confusing part. some claim they had a stash of higher binned chips, or they have gotten to the next step in the process, the end of 32nm, that allows this better/higher clock. I should probably read up on this so I have a better understanding of the process.

Yes, it's out of stock, why would that kill the price? thumb.gif

Plus they had no stock to begin with tongue.gif

I can get both down here in AU via pccasegear, ~400AUD and ~1050AUD respectively

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=187_1512&vk_sort=1

and as a reference, the 9590 is that expensive because its their top-of-the-mill silicon coming out of testing, so in theory clocks around 5.4GHz could well be possible on water, these chips are ideally for the enthusiast area that love to get high clocks just for the fun of it...

if I personally had that much money to spare, id get one alongside an open bench setup and liquid helium and try to get benches to compare biggrin.gif
though the 9370 I would get for my main rig as it would be more likely to score high clocks with greater efficiency then the standard 8350, I would expect the prices to go down if they don't sell out very fast, at least before steamroller starts to appear...
