This is mainly just MMORPGs, not MOBAs or MMOFPS

So I started playing firefall and besides the lag and bugs, it's really good in my opinion. But everyone looks for different things in an MMO. Personally I try to find an MMO that has great repeatable gameplay, but it's so hard to find(if you know of one please suggest). There's cutesy FTPMMOs with great communities, and then you have stuff like Guild Wars 2 with pretty good gameplay and a great immersive world.

Basically I thought of bringing this discusion up because I'm looking for an MMO. I play some league, and enjoy a few indie games...... Okay I play way too much league and the summer sale made me buy a few indie games. But I miss Guild Wars 1. I had about 1200 hours into it which isn't too much. I miss the feeling of just sitting down and going to this world that kinda felt like a second home, this world that you knew too well with the community that always is there 24/7. Now I only really played it for shiny armor, but it's still 1200 hours not wasted. But in my search for a decent MMO I find that, since the guild wars days, single player games, and games like league have spoiled my likeness for good gameplay. I prefer the whole you only get a few skills like league, or guild wars 1, or diablo 2/torchlight in some sense. Tera isn't doing it for me, dragons prophet isn't that bad but the beta isn't that polished, neverwinter didn't feel right. Maybe I'm not giving them not enough time but idk.

TLDR; What MMORPG do you play, and why do you really play it?

The social side of things. I get bored unless I have an epic story (single player games). I play anything that I can enjoy with friends and other people.

I want to enjoy the RPG experience with some family and friends and MMOs are about the only way. We shut down the chat box and ignore the other players in the world. This is why we, in my little circle, are so excited about Shroud of the Avatar, a chance to experience the game without seeing morons running around with character names like Sir licksalot.

I tend to play an mmo because of the community. Though if the gameplay isn't there, its just you and your friends in vent and thats boring as hell.

All about the Social baby.... Hell, I spend more times talking to friends on Ventrillo/TeamSpeak during MMO play then I do talking to them on the phone or in real life. smile.gif
