Lighting Under Computer Case? - Page 2

Take a look at these
http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_odkw=3528+double+density&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.X3528+.TRS0&_nkw=3528+&_sacat=0
They can power right off a 12v rail, just solder a molex connection (12v and ground) to one of the ends as you can cut them into sections. One side of them is sticky so they will stick to the bottom of the case.
For more information check out this thread: http://www.overclock.net/t/1246458/easy-cheap-led-case-lighting.
If you want more even lighting look for double density LEDs

Just got a Roll of red, solder it right up to the 12v (yellow) and ground (black) on a molex connector. Can even be cut at the lines then soldered again to run wires to different areas of your case.

So what exactly is going on here?

I don't fold because it does absolutely nothing for cancer (a good analogy is that folding is trying to figure out how to fix the tires on a totalled car when the engine is wrecked). Pande is pretty despised in structural biology, as he gets a lot of press (it's kind of like if the guy who came out with farmville was given an award normally reserved for CPU architectural milestones). At best it helps with alzheimers research, at worst it uses a totally incorrect model for protein mapping, and the most respected structural biologists dislike Pande for a reason. Cancer is a lot more complicated than just proteins, which are only a tiny facet of the issue.

To which a supporter may say "Well something is better than nothing", to which most structural biochemists would say no, you are supporting an incorrect model so it's actually worse than the nothing that it really is.

The cold cathodes look great, but there's a lot of problems with CCFL that make it less than ideal. I think LED strips wouldn't work too well because of the nature of LEDs, you would get a line of bright spots.

2 strips of bitfenix LED strips , Thin wires so easy to get into the case through almost any hole! , Bright! are you can do 1 down the middle and that will have less light as you wanted me I love bright lights so that lite up my hole desk area cause I love to game in the dark!

but also I was thinking meter lights would be cool! they can do like 10 diff flashes and such! (-= and back to the NZXT ones I have used some lights from them like the sleeved ones those were crap the sleeve slides on them and the little circuit bored for them was cheap as the 4 pin connector got loose after awhile and would only work half the time (GARBAGE!)

I have had there 810 full tower case too - the top vent switch (to open and close) broke on first day , chassis bent after awhile cause of weights ,made funny noises

fan controller from them - touch screen stopped working after 4 months, RMA got another defective one TRASH!

there LED strip the wire came off the PCB for the LED's and I soldered them back on positive and negative (yes I sanded the metal etc) no dice after a day are 2 came off again like it was getting too hot?

so as you can see I HATE NZXT AND WILL NEVER BUY CRAP FROM THEM!

The spotting is from the LED density being too low, if theyre close enough together you will get smooth lighting. You can buy different densities off ebay.
