Quick confirmation on triple screen setup

G'day

Just need some quick info re:triple screens.

Right now i've got 2 GTX580's in SLI and i usually run 2 screens (Both BenQ's, 1 22" and 1 24").
Anyway i had an old 19" Viewsonic just laying in a box, thought i'd chuck it on for some 3 screen action.

I only want 3 screens for the Desktop only (ie computer work/browsing/emails/videos/etc/etc) - I only ever game on my 24".

Am i right in assuming no matter how you hook it up, its not possible to run 3 screens individually (IE Not in Span or Surround mode) and still have SLI active?
Right now, turning on SLI kills the viewsonic, turning it off i can activate all 3 screens, quick google confirms this (So i'll just stick the screen back in the box tongue.gif if thats the case)

Can anyone confirm this is the case? Or is there a way to hook it up or some kind of 3rd party patch or program to get around this limitation ? (I'd really like 3 screens, even though they're all different sizes but i'm not going to sacrifice the SLI for it, and turning SLI on/off all the time is a pain since it always rearranges all my desktop icons and crashes certain programs and such)

Cheers all

From what I can tell, you are right that there is no way of having SLI active and having 3 different monitors in non-surround mode active in your setup. I actually had the same problem but my solution is not available to you, it was to use the integrated GPU to run one of the monitors. This let me keep SLI active at all times while still letting me keep all 3 monitors on.

Maybe get a really cheap card just to run the third monitor if you really want it.

thanks! Unfortunately even if i wanted to add a 3rd gfx card (I've got a few old nvidia cards that'd work) i don't have the free slots in the case thanks to the mobo spacing/2 580's and the watercooling.

Ah well i'll just put the screen back in the box, or keep it there and turn it on/off when i game (Though i bet that'll get annoying after the second time)
