Average Temperature

Thread Starter
I was just wondering if my processor is running a little too warm. I have an Asus A8N32-sli-deluxe mb and an AMD 64 X2 4800 2.4 Overclocked to 2.75. I am using the Asus PC Probe to monitor my temps. At idle my CPU is 42c and my MB is 38c (about 45c and 42c in bios). I'm sure that I am using enough cooling fans and my CPU fan is highly rated. I guess I'm just wondering if this is normal and what else could I do to bring temps down besides lapping?
Thanks,
Z

VCore of 1.52V? No wonder you think your temps are high.

A very important note. Never use CPU temp to see how hot your CPU is. Use Core temp. Looking at speedfan, your Athlon is running at 54C.

PC Wizard 2006 lets you look at the core temp of each core.

Considering you are running 2 primes per core, that temp is fine. 65C is the temp at which Athlons die, so I would suggest keeping your voltage at 1.52V. I keep mine at 1.45V.

Read the thread first>He want to know if the temp's look's OK.And the temp I need to know is OK is the cpu temp. The core temp is inside the chip. And with overvolt's enable you using more juice to the chip and for sure going to climb up.I need 1.52 to maked stable @ 2.7.My temp's are in the ballpark.Compare the speedfan and probe they are sit @ 40c@ 100% load. They match or not?
