Gtx 780 sli vs gtx 780 and a gtx 770 as discrete physx

Thread Starter
Hi everyone, well I'm planning to do a gaming build around september. I was wondering if a discrete physx caard is worth it. I'll be playing all the latest games bo2, crysis 3, max paybe 3, gta 5, battlefield 4, etc.. (When they come out of course. I was planning in doing a gtx 780 sli setup with everything maxed out. As i read that physx drops performance a lot in games i was wondering if 1 gtx 780 and 1 gtx 770 as a physx card is going to be better than a gtx 780 sli. I'm looking for which combination would be better in ultra and fps.Thank you.

GO 2 780s. You won't have a problem at all with all the eye candy on. No need for a dedicated card for physx.

I'll let the pros chime on but my vote is that sli 780's would be way better overall

none of those games use physX so getting a 770 for a physX card would be a waste. and if you were looking to play metro, borderlands 2 or batman a 650TI is plenty for a dedicated physX card even with a high end SLI setup.

here is a good thread:
680 + physx bench
they compared 680, 680 SLI and 690 with different physX cards in batman and metro 2033. but i digress, get the 780s and SLI.
