performance is negligible especially when not overclocked. when it comes to overclocking the performance margin isnt overly significant ether. besides even non K can overclock by 400mhz ontop of turbo clocks which mean your i5 3470 can be clocked at 4ghz
when it comes to gaming you will most likely be bottle necked by GPU anyway rather then CPU so its always better to have a fast GPU.
the only bits that actually required for typical overclocking (intel) is a K series CPU and a Z series motherboard, the PSU power amount doesnt really matter that much and besides a quality 450W is plenty
