OP go with Sapphire HD 7950 boost . unlocked voltage and good dual x cooler. 15 - 20% faster than HD 7870 Tahiti LE at stock. HD 7950 is 5% slower than HD 7970 at same clocks. average overclocks for HD 7950 boost are 1100 - 1150 mhz. nothing beats the HD 7950 in value for money.

newegg has it for USD 270 (250 after mail in rebate). superbiz has the same card with 4 free games. costs USD 284.

here is a HD 7950 OC(1150 mhz) vs GTX 760 OC(1280 mhz) vs HD 7870 Tahiti LE OC(1200 mhz) comparison. HD 7950 OC rules.

Off topic and irrelevant. If you bothered to read the OP, he already has two cards in his possession, and simply needed suggestion which of the 7870's to buy to crossfire with.

why is the OP asking advice. only because he must be having an option to return the powercolor HD 7870 Tahiti LE. if the OP has 1 or 2 powercolor HD 7870 Tahiti LE cards and is within the return window I suggest to return the cards and go for sapphire hd 7950 boost. the powercolor single fan cooler is not good. gets hot and loud especially with OC.

Sapphire HD 7950 boost is a faster card with a better dual x cooler. price is also very close.

the question of choosing another card comes only when the OP can return the current card. if the OP cannot return the card where is the need for all this discussion. so in the context of being able to change the card my advice is very relevant
