Upgrade after board fried AMD 8320 or Intel i5 4670K

Hello All,
I had to move due to the military, so I disassembled my whole rig and wrapped the components in anti static bags and placed all the components in my carry on luggage. I placed the tower in my checked baggage. I went to put it all together after testing my loop, and it seems my board will not post.

I would like to find a way to test the board fully, I guess there is no power going from the power switch header to tell the computer to turn on. If I can't fix I would like to know what should I upgrade to or should I just replace the 1366 board?

Option 1:
Same 1366 board or different one:

~$100-$120+shipping

Option 2:
AMD 8320/8350 with new board:

~$250+shipping

Option 3:
Intel 4670K with z87 board:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116899
~$340+shipping

Option 1 I can afford right now
Option 2 I can afford in 2 weeks
Option 3 I can afford in a month or 6 weeks (depending)

I really wanted to wait until broadwell // or steamroller. Is upgrading to a 4670k going to be worthwhile?
I also have triple channel memory right now, so I will go from 12GB to 8GB if I decide to go with option 2 or 3?
From my understanding i7 920 << FX 8320/8350 << i5 4670K is that correct, more geared toward gaming and some multi-tasking?

Rest of system:
Case: Cosmos S
RAM: super talent 1600 3x4GB
VC: MSI Twin FROZR III 7950
PSU: Corsair AX1200
PROC: W3520 (i7 920 equiv)
SC: Soublaster Audigy Z
HDD/SSD: 2TB HDD / 120GB SSD
Cooling: Raystorm ex360 Kit (D5 Vario Pump/Res Combo)

Any help would be great either fixing the board or input on any choices!! Thanks in advance!!

Out of curiosity, isn't your board still under warranty? As far as I know, the Sabertooth line have a 5 year warranty?

Purchased the board from Craigslist, not sure how well that would work for a warranty swap.
