7900GT: what is your vcore and cooling?

Thread Starter
I've been reading about doing the vmod to the 7900GT and I was going to give it a shot. I was going to go for 1.5V core but I'm not sure if my VF900 will cool enough for that. I was reading in past threads about what vcore people were using but they were not mentioning what they were using for cooling.

my specs: 1.5 volt mod; overclock: 700/852

you should do the 1.5 volt mod ...

your cooler is sufficient and you'd gain a rather large performance increase.

i did it and gained like 2000 points in 3dmark05 ... and, about 20 to 40 FPS in games.

personally, i use a vantec iceberq 6, but your zalman should also provide adequate cooling.

check my sig for temps with the iceberq 6 on a 1.5v 7900GT ... you zalman should be close to the same results ...

...

i'll probably do the 1.55 mod soon ..

Would a Zalman Fatal1ty FS-V7 Cool enough?

I've always said i don't want to volt mod but its getting tempting.

Im currently running my XFX 7900GT at 562/908 and

My load temp will never see 60. I think it maxes out at 56ish

7900gt KO
1.4v core @ 650mhz
2.28v mem @ 988mhz

idle temp-29c
load temp-48c

Zalman GPU block, independant cooling loop for vid card.

*try to keep your load temps below 50c @ 1.55v for highest results.

Is there any way to Vmod on a stock cooler? If i up it maybe even .05v? Is it even worth it? I'm tempted as my 7900GS OC is decent but i really wanna see this puppy fly.

wouldn't mess with it on stock cooling.

drop 30 bucks on an iceberq 6; then volt mod the hell out of it.

just about every review of seen of that cooler, my own included, saw load temps almost 15C below the stock coolers at the same speed.

there's a link in my sig.

otherwise, the silencer's are a sure thing as well but don't know if they make one for your card.
