not hate'n on you or the zalman but why pay more for something that's not *as* good as a silencer or iceberq and that doesn't get the 130F heat dissipated off the vga card *out* of the case. the exhaust function is so impressive ...

actually, at load, the core is more like 160F, but the exhaust air coming out of the back of my iceberq (and out of the case) is right at 130F ... almost too hot to hold my hand over ...

here's a link to a recent test i did: http://www.overclock.net/nvidia-cool...ing-rocks.html

the zalman's are good, within a degree or two of the iceberq 6 or silencer's ... but they don't impact overall system temp performance as well as those which exhaust the air ... and to boot, the AC and Vantec coolers are cheaper.

just some food for thought.

Well, the silencer has to be modded to fit my card if i'm not mistaken and I think that vantec cooler is ugly. I also have ridiculous airflow as well as a 120mm intake just for the vga cooler, I'm not worried about overall case temp as it's usually a degree or so off of room temp.

what sort of case do you have ... 1 degree delta is right nice ...

It's a normal black mid tower BUT I have modded a 120mm blowhole exhaust, a 120mm front intake, a 120mm VGA intake and there is a 120mm filter directly in-line with my Big Typhoon (and soon to be FM121) so the BT acts as an intake also.

3x120mm intake

2x80mm, 1x120mm exhaust

PSU has a 120mm and an 80mm exhaust

I<3 airflow..

i love the FM121. i've got two strapped to a scythe infinity; run them at very low speeds for my 24/7 overclock of 3.6ghz ... but blast the hell out of them for benching.

here's a recent single vs. dual FM121 review i did: http://www.overclock.net/intel-air-c...n-vs-dual.html

also, a funny video showing the low speed vs. high speed sound of two FM121's running concurrently: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUfcUmawnJs

good luck with your vmod!

I did the 1.55V Vmod. My voltmeter reads 1.45V, though. I get 685/895, totally stable. VF900, with a 12cm blower fan and PCI exhaust right next to it, removing hot air.

Idle is currently 49C (I dont remember it being that high. Oh well).

7900gt KO -> 1.4v core, 2.27v mem
654mhz on core
976mhz on mem

idle @ 27c
load @ 49c

Highest AM3 score -> 171,000

1.55v< same numbers as the 1.5v though.. memory at 2.25v

712/925 stable forever, I can game at 725/960 though with no artifacts..

VF900 with a 120mm side intake feeding it cool air. Check out my gallery for a pic.. (never tops 56C) Idles at 40C or less..
