What DRM move in gaming/movie/television? They removed all the gaming DRM. This is why people are calling you crazy, because you're pulling "facts" out of your butt.

no there was one person (you can make it two) calling not just me crazy (actually schizophrenic ?) but anyone who disagreed with the idea that the kinect could be used as a surveillance tool which was actually quite a few people in this thread and the 20 other threads about this and thousands of comments on the youtube videos about it also, so stop pulling facts out of your butt.. people are worried about this, they have the right to be.

with regards to DRM lets just wait and see how they implement the use of kinect in future to control licensing, perhaps after the rightful outcry they may never do this but time will tell. Your thinking about network sign in and games, im looking at this box as a TV box so i am considering the use of movie / TV features.. im not arsed about it as a games console its less powerful than the competition and less flexible than the PC.

Good thing the xbox can be unplugged from the network if you are that paranoid about it.

good thing im not paranoid about it because im not buying one and neither is anyone i know. Which is a shame as my mates were all fairly die hard xbox fans. MS tried to pull a fast one and failed. Also you know that there is almost no worth in removing the network due to updates and downloads.. they leave that to individual devs to implement their own drm

i think many will skip this gen due to this messing around.

Really? Updates and downloads happen every time you turn on your 360?

If you are that paranoid about it, then it is your call to not buy one. I for one don't care if some NSA spook has the ability to catch me scratching my uncovered package on my couch at 3 am. The simple fact is this - no matter how much you complain about it, if the government wants to do so, no amount of protesting or petitions is going to stop them.

All they have to do is pass some BS about how its for the good of the public and write some new act that exempts them from the rules of the constitution in "special circumstances". This country is no longer bound by the constitution anyways. Hasn't been since even before 911.

That kind of paranoia isn't going to stop me from enjoying a game with my friends.

Now, if it was required to be "always online" and all that nonsense from before, you can bet I wouldn't buy it. To not buy it just because I am afraid of a camera that comes with the thing... well, lets just say there are millions of people who already have a Kinect on their 360 and you don't hear too often about some FBI agents kicking your door in because they caught someone on the Kinect.

If they wanted to do it, this thing being "always on" or not wouldn't matter. If they wanted to spy on you, not having internet or a Kinect wouldn't stop them either. Plus, by the time you have the government's attention, you are probably already screwing up to begin with.

This.

It is just something to complain about at this point.

im sure that MS are going to do some crazy good stuff with the xboxone as are sony with the PS4. In the end its only a piece of hardware that you choose to buy or not.

I guess its no problem really. Like 76.252% of the world has slow internet anyway so it'll take forever to upload a days worth of video in 1080p.

Plus the internet is always cutting out because 84.22285% of people live in the toilet of a submarine so the streaming quality will just be annoying!
