Corsair Extreme Series X256 SSD questions

Thread Starter
I found 4 Corsair Extreme X256 SSD's on Craiglist, he's willing to sell all 4 for $175. I don't know if i can afford all of them, but maybe a few.
He says they don't play well with most controllers and have firmware issues. I was wondering if this is true and if there is a fix.
I was also wondering if anyone knew if this was a good deal, it seems like it.

Thanks.

A SATA II SSD from 2009, did not seem to have a long life as a product.

FWIW, Newegg reviews were poor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=20-233-093&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Keywords=%28keywords%29&Page=2#scrollFullInfo

If the seller has warnings in the ad, that says it all IMO.
