Just killed a stick of Gskill trident x 2400mhz

I was going to remove the heatsinks for a memory pot and the heatsinks are glued on and it started to lift a memory chip up. This happened to anyone else before? I had it happen on some ddr2 stuff before. Kinda pointless post but if anyone is thinking about removing them, heat them up first.
I should game.

TridentX heatsinks are hard to remove successfully even if you know what you're doing. In your case, the stick will most likely go through RMA without any issues unless there is physical damage.

To be honest, I don't see how removing HS off TridentX makes sense - SN gives away the IC maker anyway, and pot can be sat on top of default HS very nicely.

True, i just wanted to put the full kit on, they didn't overclock much on air anyways.
