Arch is far from hard, though the new installer is a bit more than the old. The old was really painless, that is if you have wired. Then again, any text install tends to be anti-wifi. If you have wired, it's like just installing the main system then booting into it (obviously steps cut out). Then just setting up the proper programs, systemd isn't hard and all the programs are done through pacman via this intronet thing. wink.gif Other than that, the only difference is you type instead of click to install.

I'd put arch just a bit harder, a teeny bit, above most distributions. Roughly on par with net-installations, just a few minor config edits (very few last time I checked, oh and I can distro-hop again! I have wired, OOOOOO OOOOOO - sorry, just realized that and I've got a new TB hard drive......).

Gentoo, Slack, stuff like that is when I'd consider saying know your stuff. The rest, even net-installs, just get lynx and go surf tutorials. wink.gif That's what I do in a text based install if I'm stumped, good ol' lynx. Sometimes not so good but eh, that's lynx for ya.

I personally prefer net-installs, so you can manage what you want easier. I also prefer full fledged distros, not that I ever need it but... I'm on a nice rig, system slowdown is the least of my concerns. I just like to see how nice things progress.

This all reminds me, I should boot back into Fedora or start my Distro hop journey again. Hmmmm, I'll think about it.
