[GB]63% Of Gamers Game On PC - Page 3

As a lot of people thought in the other thread, these numbers are primarily made up of people who play stuff like Facebook games and "card games, trivia" etc.

When you decide to include everyone who plays Family Feud, Farmville, and the like, "PC gaming" suddenly becomes gigantic.

Dont get me wrong, I'm a pc gamer, but these charts kind of give a wrong image of the "real" pc gaming market.

I wonder if single player game data would change the numbers any.

And I am sorry, but trivia and board games and such should be lumped in with the casual "face book games"...most of those types of games are on peoples' phones as well. That would make 40% of 63% of gamers play real games on a PC...if those persistent games are all MMOs.

I already answered that in the "other" thread

Though I can't help but take all these polls and reports with a grain of salt. I am in no delusion that PC gaming is dead...I just know it will likely always have a back seat to consoles. Even right now at the end of the current console generation's life it is still handily beating out PCs in real gaming numbers (as in games that actually could be played on both platforms). So I don't think we will see the ying and yang like we used to. Why? because if PC gaming was this prevalent Game Stop would be full of PC games. There would be AAA title PC exclusives left and right and it would be the consoles that got the ports if they were lucky. As much as I dislike the game publishers of the world for various reasons...I fail to believe they would turn a weak eye to the largest market segment. They can't be that stupid.

You do realize that China isn't counted in MOST sources.

The source I am posting here does count china. China is the largest growing video game market. guess who's winning there. It aint consoles my lovelies.

Market by screen is an interesting one I thought. It's also interesting to note they seperated MMOs from PC and Consoles in another graph. And look who the big boy in the room is. Asia. Europe coming up in 3rd and South America in dead last.
