Evaporation Cooling Questions

Thread Starter
I am in the process of designing a case that I plan to do evaporation cooling in and have a few questions.

1. I am looking at the height the water would fall and was wondering how much it affects the performance? I am looking at between 18-22 inches or so and was wondering if plus or minus four inches makes any difference?

2. How much air should I be moving through the water fall area and does the direction affect it? I mean does it matter if it blows down at the water surface or can it go across it?

3. Other than buying a rain shower head whats the best way to get it to be more like rain than a stream(ie hole size and water pressure)?

Thanks for the help. I can't wait to get this project started and build my first case.

The more water droplets there are, the smaller they are, and the more air that contacts them the cooler the water will get.

Have you thought about what's going to happen to the humidity is the room with this cooler in it?

Down or across??? Got a sketch?
