Still, part of the reason I went with Apple was for their superior support, you would think issues like this would not reach the general public. You would think a company like Apple would test their products (haven't they learned from antenna-gate?).
Anyway, now that that issue is out of the way, I have no complaints. I thought I would dislike the screen, coming from a 1440p desktop. I think the MBA display is nice. I would have liked maybe something like 1080p, but that would have decreased battery life and increased price. 900p is a nice in-between resolution. Can't say I would have purchased a 768p screen. Trying to play with OS X and learn the ins and outs. Luckily I have the time. Eventually I might bootcamp with Windows 7, but with a 128GB SSD, space is at a premium.
Battery life is great, and I still cannot believe how thin this thing is. Been watching YouTube and browsing the internet since about 3pm. It's currently 3am, and I still have 25% battery. And this is coming from someone who likes his screen on max brightness along with the keyboard backlighting. Also watched two episodes of Breaking Bad with max volume. The sound on here is nice, surprisingly. I actually got a few highs and lows, along with some bass. Nothing phenomenal though.
Apple certainly turned a doubter and someone who would constantly denounce them into a believer. Will you see me with an iPhone anytime soon? No. But you cant go wrong with the MBA. Solid piece of engineering (I realize I just complained about the wifi issues, which many are experiencing, but thankfully it was a software fix and not a hardware problem).
Sorry this was kind of a jumbled and sporadic post. Just wanted to voice some of my thoughts as they came about.
I am interested in the solo installation of Windows 8 though. I thought for sure battery life would suffer. If I really cannot deal with OS X I'll consider installing Windows 7. Good to know I have something to fall back on.
