Hi , I am currently on a VE248H monitor and i am satisfied but since I will get 2 GTX 780 and will have over 60fps on many games I want to get the best out of it no stuck with a 1080p 60hz screen ...

I would like to know if the color and image quality of the VG248QE would be the same or better as my VE248H ?

For the main question of this thread what do you think is the best between the VG248QE or PB278Q for Gaming ?

So 1440p 60hz 27'' PLS (IPS) Panel or 1080p 144hz 24'' TN Panel ?

My rig will be a i7 3930k with a EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX in SLI .

I play all kind of games ; FPS , RPG , MMO , Aventure , Racing ect ...

Im not a real competitive gamer that will play Counter Strike . Im play for the fun of it .

I will play on my pc : BF4 , Watch Dogs, GTA IV, Max Payne 3, Planet Side 2, Guild Wars 2, Diablo 3 & Torchlight 2, Farcry 3, Need For Speed, Borderlands 2, Arma 3, Crysis, RO2, Saints Row 3 ect..

Or stay with my VE248H and instead of investing in SLI and Monitor I put my money on something else for upgrade ... or wait for next technologie like 1440p on 24'' or 1440p with 120Hz without overclocking ...

Thanks for your advice .

There are tons of threads about this already (try using the search function or google next time: 120hz vs. 1440p/2560x1440) & Mark gave you an informative answer on [H]ard Forum already.

The VG248QE will either have the same or worse image quality but far clearer motion while the PB278Q will have far better colors, viewing angles, and a clearer image since it has a higher resolution and a non grainy matte coating.

There are better 2560x1440 monitors though such as the ViewSonic VP2770 which has considerably less ghosting than the PB278Q, just as good colors, viewing angles and less lag. The PB278Q will have more ghosting vs. the VE248H while the VP2770 will be more comparable or only slightly slower.

Ignore manufacturer response time numbers and read this post
