Hey guys,

So my girlfriend has been having some issues playing some games on her current pc. She likes to play WOW and LOL mostly, but also uses it for web surfing, music, and movies. She asked me the other day if there was anything we could do within a budget of about $100 bucks, to get a little more performance out of it. I replied " well let me check", and this is what ive came up with.

Dell Dimension C521:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Dual Core Processor 2.9 Ghz ( I've done some research and i think for this mobo this is about the best CPU i can get, If im wrong please correct me.)

RAM: 2GB PC2-4200 DDR2 Memory

HDD: 64GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive

VGA: PNY Geforce 7300GS 256MB DDR2 Pci-e

PSU: 280w Standard Dell PSU

Potential Upgrades:

RAM: CORSAIR XMS2 4GB (4x1GB) DDR2 675 PC2 5400

( Due to the case's limited size I'm opting for a smaller foot print HDD and CD drive, while adding a couple fans hoping to increase air flow.)

VGA: GT520 HDMI 1GB 1G DDR3 DVI VGA PCI-E 16X Graphics Card

PSU: ? ( Again due to the case's size its been hard for me to find a stronger PSU. I was wondering if it would be possible to swap the "gutz" out of my 500w psu in another pc, into the stock Dell psu casing, or with the potential parts will the standard 280w PSU still be sufficient. Any thoughts?)

So there it is, the PSU thing kinda has me stumped, because the mobo in the C521 is proprietary along with the psu so I'm wondering just how involved it would be to do the swap, or if its even possible without frying something. As I said before if the current PSU will work I would be more than happy to just leave it alone. Also the VGA has to be a SLIM style VGA. The HDD and RAM I'm fairly confident will work just fine, I checked the specs on the mobo and matched everything up.

I'm looking to order the parts from ebay, I've found all three for just a hair under $100.00 including shipping. My question is would this be a fairly decent upgrade? I'm sure there are other components that are better and I'm open to any suggestions that will give me higher performance. THANKS A BUNCH GUYS!!
