RMA a motherboard

Thread Starter
I've been having a lot of trouble with my desktop lately. My first power supply went out. My second RMA power supply came today, passed the paper clip. Test. However the motherboard is still lifeless. So it reasonable that the first powersupply protections failed and did something to the motherboard.

My question is how should I pack it. I can double box it and put something in between the boxes if possible. I'm worried that the inner box holding the motherboard(retail box) might allow for too much movement

Yeah, you can double box it and put some news paper between the retail box and the outer box. Or save the box that newegg sends you.

Surely you have bought stuff online before, you send it back in the same way.

The fancy retail box is for display mainly, and should be placed within another outter box.

So yes double boxing is a must.

Amazon uses thick brown paper to pad any spaces left between the two, some other companies use sealed pockets of air.

Bubble-wrap would be an option too.

Use what you have and pay the extra for shipping insurance if not included in your RMA process for peace of mind.

Oh and I personally use half a roll of tape to make the outterbox more water resistant.

All this stuff is cheap compared to a motherboard.
