i was sooooo p155'ed when it happened since it was a fairly new unit. the PSU was protected behind a surge protector AND an UPS.... so... as far as antec, you NEED to make sure the unit you want is in the recommended list
I will never personally recommend another antec unit again
Meh, every big player can have a fluke unit. I've had an Antec and Corsair PSU fail on me (via fan and primary capacitor respectively), and i saw a Seasonic M12II blew up most spectacularly, even behind a quality UPS on a friend's PC in the middle of a lanparty. Even after that, my current PSU's are exactly those same brands (Seasonic on my main rig, Corsair on my BOINC rig and Antec on my work PC).
Then again, the only PSU brand i do not trust is Cooler Master, at least on the lower-end models, but i've heard nothing bad about the new lower range PSU's. The higher ranged ones (anything Gold and up) is nice to have though.
