Little bummed about the x79 chipset being as old as it is... But its better than waiting for Haswell-E, and honestly I don't care about having USB 3.0 Headers or whatever.
I am curious though, will pcie 3.0 work on a IVY-E installed x79 board? I have heard mixed answers regarding nvidia cards and pcie 3.0 on x79 with SB-E, some say it works but I recall NVIDIA saying they weren't supporting it or something?
EDIT: Yes I know that my GTX 780 doesn't NEED PCIE 3.0 but it would be nice to have since I am thinking I may go SLI Titans depending on how my 780 performs at 4960x1600.
From what I've gathered, Ivy-e will possibly bring proper PCI express 3.0 certification to Nvidia GPUs. Currently I do not think AMD GPU users have to use the registry hack, only Nvidia.
