Why did you buy an entry level 800 watts PSU when you could have gotten a better 550 warrs PSU for the same money

No you dont need 800 watts even with two video cards

I thought the thermaltake was a good buy. Will a 550 watt power a 7970 and the i7 920 1337. I like continuous power too vs peak. Give it a little head room

Yes. A high quality 550w PSU will let you overclock the i7 and the 7970 while still having enough power room

The thermal take is a good buy but you can keep the 850w but if your going to crossfire, overclock and overvolt your card then the 850w is recommended

Lol first power on I had a little smoke from one wire. Pull it out and shut it off. Lucky I didnt fry anything. Turn off and on a couple time to test the stability.i been using this for a couple days now and its great. The usb pin being bent on the output was cause of computer not turning off so I thought It was the power suppply. I kept on messing with the usb on the motherboard and couldnt figire it out. I tjen did a quick google search and found out that its being trip. So then my old psu die from constantly turn on or it justs old. I had this psu sinch 1337 i7 were release but a new psu did the trick. Hope this help someone with this problem later. This was all cause by a bent usb pin short circuiting the psu .
