Hello,

I am hoping someone here can either explain to me what is happening or potentially give me a fix for it. As of right now I will take a explanation as to why since I can't seem to figure it out but I figure someone with some networking experience might be able to.

So my issue is coming from the game World of Tanks. For some reason I cannot get a decent ping in this game if my life depended on it. Friends that live down the street from me do fine, I use to do fine, but then they changed their server setup and its been hell since then. I use to average about 40ms but now I am lucky to get 120ms.

So to start with they use to have one universal server for North America, not sure where it was located or anything but it worked great. Some people complained it wasn't good, but for the most part it was perfect. Since some complained they decided to set up a North America East and North America West server. Since then I cannot get a good connection on either. I have checked my firewall, I have tried several things on my end but nothing seems to do.

Tonight I started to look into it a little further and came across some weird things. I started by looking up the server locations.

What I found was this:

NA East - Washington DC, USA (login-master.worldoftanks.com) (209.170.73.34, 209.170.73.54, 209.170.73.64)

NA West - Los Angeles, USA (162.213.61.85, 162.213.61.63, 209.170.73.70)

Those are what they claim is the server locations and their IP's. I did an IP location check on those, the 209.'s are all in Sweden. Doesn't seem like Washington DC to me? When I do a traceroute it makes a hop in Washington DC but it doesn't stop there by any means. Hops on over to Switzerland for a little then goes finally to Sweden.

And when I do the traceroute in command prompt I get this:

Just not sure why it does that when they claim it is a Washington DC based server. But then to make things stranger the 162. IP's are in Colorado or something but when I do a pingtrace on them they then still end up in Sweden.

Just curious if I am missing something or did they really mess something up with this?

EDIT: After doing a little bit more research it seems to be an issue between comcast and their network provider, telia.
