How to fix refresh rate?

Thread Starter
Hiho, I just bought Acer GD245HBD (ET.FG5HE.011) which was supposed to have 75-80hz refresh rate but I can't set it even on 1280x1024 (native is 1920x1280) I'm using vga-dvi adapter (as the monitor came with vga cable and i have dvi radeon card). My eyes hurt after using the computer after an hour or two now.

Any solution to this other than buying a new monitor i can't afford? frown.gif
Would getting a dvi-d cable (i have dvi-d slot in the monitor but no cable) as opposed to using the adapter work?

Try to use this!

With this program you can make a custom resolution, so you might even be able to overclock your monitor a bit if you are lucky smile.gif
First I would recommend to try native resolution and see how many HZ you can get out of that, as monitors always looks best at native res.
Just keep going in to screen goes black, don't worry it its pretty much safe, just turn down hz again if screen goes black or get stripes in image.
