New case: ATX, alluminium, 4+ HDs high end card length

Thread Starter
Hi all,
i'm on the market for a new case, it must meet the following requirements:
  • alluminium chassis (though i can take something else if it's worth it)
  • i need 4 3.5'' hard disk and 2 2,5 SSD
  • up to 29cm video card lenght (i currently own a GTX 770)
  • ATX or M-ATX
  • possible set up with 240 rad for CPU watercooling

I'm very interested in Lian-Li PC V700B or Cubitek AIO Magic Cube, what other good options do i have?

Thanks

There is unfortunately not enough room in the top of the v700 for a rad and fans. I love the case though.

yes i've unfortunately found out myself frown.gif
At the moment i could either go Cubitek AIO or Sivlerstone FT02 which come at the same price, i'm not sure which one is better though.
Another option is Lian Li A75X which is the cheaper and a total overkill for me biggrin.gif
I would have bought the V750 if it was cheaper, that case seems a bit overpriced to me (also considering other Lian-Li cases).

FT02 is designed for air cooling unless you are willing to commit to a fairly extensive mod.

I've watercooled the RV02 in the past, i know it's now ideal for watercooling, space for a 240 rad is a nice to have but not necessary.
I need however the option to do a SLI of high end cards and put 4 or more HDDs in the case wink.gif

Thanks

well, what happened to your RV02? biggrin.gif it has the same sub-frame as the FT02 (unless you have a really old version) but either way, you know what the FT02 is capable of. what you also need to keep in mind is the new AP182 fan you can buy to replace the middle AP181 fan to provide that extra oomph for GPU cooling when needed. the AP181 is a 130CFM 1200 RPM fan while the AP182 is a 170CFM fan @2000RPM so... much louder, but also alot higher CFM. the more important part IMO is the increased static pressure to blast more air between the cards in SLi/xfire.

i've sold it ;(
i'm kind of regretting it right now, anyway FT02 would have been a step up anyway, i didn't like the plastic front and the top panel, the FT02 looks more "professional".

hehe you just pointed out the main reason why i bought FT02 instead of RV02 biggrin.gif over the years. people change cases mainly because they got tired of looking at the same case everyday for years on end biggrin.gif so if you spend extra $ and buy the best looking case in the 1st place (not some cheezy design you'll eventually grow out of) then you will not have to spend more $ on getting new cases every few years.

however, with the FT02. it's kinda like a dead end biggrin.gif you will eventually want to get something new.... but you realize the FT02 is STILL the best choice if you went shopping today biggrin.gif there just isn't anything that is "better" out there...... but eventually, you start coming up with excuses like you wanted a SFF build using the new ASUS impact ITX board etc... biggrin.gif
