Achieva Shimian QH2700 IPSMDP and Macbook Pro

Thread Starter
Hi,

This is my first post as I've been lurking for a few days and took the plunge a couple of days ago and purchased an Achieva Shimian QH2700DP monitor.

I live in Korea at the moment - so I knew I could return it if it was bad. The monitor took 2 days to arrive and I purchased this model as it has Displayport input in the hope that it would work on my early 2011 Macbook pro with thunderbolt port.

It works a treat and it is spectacular! Just like an Apple display, but with a crappier stand! This stand will be replaced in due course.

UPDATE: I've also noticed something rattling around inside when I moved it to a new desk. Also screen gets quite hot, not sure if that's normal for these types of screen or not.

The picture is stunning, there are no dead pixels and I'm blown away by how good it is. Not checked for any backlight bleed as yet. It was US$411 delivered. I also had to purchase a mini DP to DP male-male cable - but it came with a hdmi cable and also a dp to dp cable as well as power supply.

UPDATE: It was delivered with a mini dp adapter too!

It has the following ports: DVI-D, VGA, HDMI, Display Port, Audio in and Audio out.

It has an on screen display, but it is in Korean - not yet sure how to change it, but I'll be able to live with it.

UPDATE: I've been able to chane the menu to English. There are other language options too.

Anyway, just wanted to those mac users out there know there's a great option available that doesn't need an adapter.

Cheers

Dave.

Thanks for sharing. I'm just wondering if you can access the RGB channels as part of the OSD? I'm interested in purchasing one of these as well...would be great if you could let me know, much appreciated.
