over clocking the phenom x4 b35

Thread Starter
hi guys ive got the AMD Athlon II X3 435 and ive unlocked it to phenom II x4 b35 which is running 4 x 2.9 GHz. my motherboard is a microstar ms-7599 and ive recently OCed my graphics card a bit so i noticed i should try OC my processor too. i mean, i'm a total newbie when it comes to this so id be very grateful if you could just give me some general tips about OCing the cpu, this one especially if you know how. is it safe? is it less demanding than gpu OCing? is it noticeable? does it shorten the CPU lifetime by much? how will it impact my overall performance? i forgot to mention that im running 4gbs of ddr3 ram and a radeon HD 7750 (which i OCed a bit). soo all in all im just looking for a tutor (lol), cause i really dont know what it takes, the software, the process, the precautions, please help!

I think you may find THIS thread of interest. smile.gif Lots of info there. Just check your board has a decent VRM on it, as some MSI boards are known to pop when overclocking them. So do your research.
