AMD Phenom II x4 965 B.E High stock voltages?

Hey all, a quick question, is my Phenom set too high for voltage? GPU-Z is reading 1.5v and I can say I have not touched it AT ALL! I have not attempted to overclock this, mainly due to this high voltage, I understood that this chip runs at 1.35v before overclock.

So, have I got a bad chip or have I been mis-informed somewhere?

No takers on this one?

That motherboard has a weaker 4+1 vrm, which is likely causing the higher voltage. Phenom II's can handle up to 1.55, so I wouldn't panic over it, but I would probably reduce the voltage in the bios, regardless of what the bios says the voltage is, until cpu-z says the voltage under load is about 1.35V

Things to check if you haven't already,
make sure to use latest version of CPUZ. I've had a buggy version that misread Vcore in the past.
Try using a different monitoring utility like HWInfo64 or HWmonitor to compare. HWInfo64 will show "cpu core VID" (recommended Vcore for chip)
Have you reset CMOS or checked your mobo bios version? Maybe reflashing?

1.5v for stock is crazy.
Are there any OCing utilities installed?

The list grows lol.
More info from you = better replies

While that mobo does have limitations it should run a 965 at stock values with a lot less than 1.5v Vcore.
This will help explain the limitations I (and spartan) mentioned

on stock settings the mb feeds power automatically into your cpu, which is why you're getting power fluctuations. I had them with my PhII, and my mb had great power regulation (8+1), under full load it was pulling like 1.53V at stock speeds... it's how AMDs weird chipsets work. turn off LLC, turn off Quiet and Cool, turn off auto on the master cpu settings, and manually set your vcore and frequency. generally speaking PhII 965 can be undervolted at stock speeds, so setting it to it's "base" 1.3875 vcore will likely work just fine (you can leave everything else on auto). Hell, my PhII 965 is prime95 stable on stock voltage up to 3.7ghz

If you have stability issues at stock frequencies and a vcore of 1.3875 (you shouldn't but sometimes it happens) bump your vcore up to 1.4... it shouldn't need more then that ever at stock.
