So as of today I have the required rep to post a classified add on ocn, heres what iam thinking sell my crossfired 6970s and get a single card solution? I was thinking like a 7950 possibly? Or maybe a used 7970?....I also wanted to ask you guys how much schould I ask for my current gpus? I paid $150 for the 6950 unlocked shaders to 6970,& $170 for the 6970.They were used only for a few months and very well takwn care of!....$300 for both cards hows that sound? I know they are mine and the price is up to me,i just wanted to get your guys opinion if you were shopping today for these gpus, what price would you like to see that would make you buy them? All I have budget wise for a new gpu would be whatever I get from the salw so please keep that in mind.aI would perfer a used 7970 I heard 2 6970s are tied with a 7970! True? Dont wanna lose performance

You're always going to have better performance using a single 7950 or 7970 over 6970 CF. There's also more ram on there to handle multiple monitors if that applies. I think you're probably asking too much for your GPUs though as anything used, even lightly, never retains what you actually paid. With the market place you also have to keep in mind something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. Put the listing at $1 (obviously you're not selling them at that) and see what kind of offers people will make and hopefully you'll get enough to buy something else.

Yeah thats a very good idea! Why didnt I think of that lol? These cards actually beat the 7970 at a couple diffrent things but theres no need to open that up right now.the xtra 1gb will be useful for me I completly agree.besides I dont get to utlize the full potential of crossfire beacuse I mostly play flight sims, they run way better on single gpu!

If you have the upgrade itch right now you'll be good with a 7950, slightly cheaper and you can OC it to a 7950 and beyond. They also run really cool and quiet without requing a ton of power. I went from a 6870 to 7950 and it's so quiet and my max temp is 60c doing folding all day or playing BF3 a few hours with the fans only running at 40% the whole time (crank them up past 60% to hear them and 100% sounds like a jet engine). It's better to stay in front of things than fall so far behind that what you have doesn't even have decent value anymore.

I dont know ill probbly just add a few bucks if I have to and just get the 7970. I think its $100 dollars more thats it.But when you overclock the 7970 it will surpass an overclocked 7950.thumb.gif

I'd get the 7970 and overclock it. You're going to lose performance in just about everything (except for flight sims or other games that don't use crossfire) by going to a single 7950.
