3930k won't post with modern video card?! Any Ideas?

Built new system, worked great. Tried some mild overclocking, and would not post. Tried reseting, then flashing the BOIS, would not post.

Then I went about replacing EVERYTHING piece by piece. NOTHING worked, until I put in an older video card.

First working setup:

3930k cpu
ASUS P9x79 pro 2011
MSI 680gtx
Vengeance Series 16GB DDR3-1600 (4gb sticks)
Seasonic 760 ps

replaced with:

3930k cpu - new
Gigabyte GA-x79s-UP5
Vengeance Series 16GB DDR3-1600 (4gb sticks) - new
(same video card, no luck)

replaced video card with:
evga 560ti
and it worked.... so I thought the MSI 680gtx was bad...

replaced video card with:
Gigabyte 770

would not post... thought it could be lack of power, switched to

Cosair AX1200i 1200

Still won't post.

I'm confused... why on earth with new cpu, mobo, memory, and gpu it would not post kills me.

ANY IDEAS?????

Do either of the motherboards have post code read outs? If so what is the code? I know there were some people on the EVGA forums complaining about no post with the 770 due to the new UEFI. Not sure if that applies to you or not though.

No codes, just a hang on the Motherboard splash screen on the Gigabyte mobo, and before the splash on the ASUS mobo.

The older evga 560ti works in all builds, and so does everything else. It's putting in the video cards that lock it down.

Found a solution with the Gigabyte motherboard, BIOS update covered it... Still working to get the ASUS one working though.

Seems since the 680gtx is not new that this shouldn't be an issue... yet it is.
