Unless Pichai will offer attendants some sort of spectacular breakfast worth livestreaming, we'd say that the company is finally ready to unveil new hardware and software - we're obviously referring to the new Nexus 7 and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Obviously, we could be wrong, but what else would Google want to unveil on that date?

UPDATE

New Nexus 7 coming to retail outlets next week, according to documents

Quote:
It appears that the rumored sequel to the Nexus 7 is close at hand, according to internal documents sent to us by an anonymous tipster. Apparently, the new device will be sold in stores alongside the current iteration (at first, at least, though we can't be certain if this will only be until existing stock runs out). The docs indicate that stores will receive the tablet as early as the 20th, though we wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see it until the 24th or later, given Google's product event on that date.

UPDATE 2

Android 4.3 leaks for the Nexus 4, teases us one last time

Quote:
Oh, Android 4.3, why must you tease us so? The new version of Jelly Bean's been making cameos all over the place for a couple months now, so it was only a matter of time until we'd see a build available for download. A working TWRP backup of Android 4.3 just popped up on XDA Developers thanks to Google+ user Jeff Williams, who recently purchased a Nexus 4 running the new version of Jelly Bean.

We've seen so many leaks of the X that it's possible even a short cameo (Eric Schmidt stopping by, for example) would make it alongside a potential Nexus 7 successor and Android 4.3 announcement.

Bezel on the bottom and top look a tad thicker but the sides look to be 1-2mm thinner...
Interesting they chose to go with the all black. I was hoping for keeping some silver in the mix...maybe there will be a few different colors...?

Was hopping more for a new OS version. 4.3 is a side grade.

In reality probably not. If 4.3 you will get it with Nexus 7 first gen, Yes it will be faster but do you really need it to be faster. The screen is better but Nexus 7 screen is not bad.

The Nexus 7 is good by itself. Whether or not the successor is a worthy upgrade is up to you.
