On the other hand a LOT of bugs which were people complaining about were game/engine related (such as Z-fighting).
Are they fixed with the new drivers

AMD's drivers are pretty good imo. I jump between nVidia and AMD all the time and have no loyalty really, both do a great job on their drivers, however I've only had one unfixable driver issue in all my computer owning life, and that was with nVidia where sometimes fullscreen would force 24hz.

Fixed so far:

1. Frame latency (eg stuttering) on single GPU configurations.
2. Input lag
3. DX9 flickering (most of it at least)

Waiting for fix:
1. Crossfire configurations (new driver should be released on 31st July).

I believe that some bugs which are visible only with HD 7xx0 graphics still persist and have to be fixed. I believe that you can now use the graphics and you will not notice any bug, unless you know what to search. It is true that even NV has its own trouble with drivers...

nothing wrong with CF configurations they will works fine but the fix is for the same thing you mentioned earlier it is a frame time fix.

I wouldn't know where since I'm probably not running that software, AMD drivers have been quite good to me my Nvidia drivers on the other hand didn't go well with my reference GTX570 I now have a GTX570 classified and now all is OK.

at OP AMD is making a turnaround so the drivers from now on will be very good once the word gets out people will drop the favouritism and will buy the best bang for buck (unless they truly are fanboys or need cuda)

Yes, i wrote it bit confusing, sorry for that.

Saying that AMD will have only better and better drivers is bit exaggerated expectation... If something is wrong people have to provide feedback instead of whinning as I saw on many forums last year.

Also this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvEms82lYvc

For me its visible only on HD 7000 card (GCN architecture) and only in Skyrim, and its 100% reproducible. I can blame AMD for this, but truth is that I dont know if its crappy game code or driver bug. Also there is 3rd possibility that I am only user of AMD graphics who can see this bug in Skyrim just because of other hardware I use...

I worked too long as guy who has to identify bugs. Blaming AMD is just not the right way.

And no AMD drivers are not bad when talking single GPU's at all, and the fix is coming very soon to fix crossfire.

it is hard to prove 'cause . . . it is just . . . hard. take this for example . . .

edit: tried crossfire and played BF3, C3, and C2. all smooth and nothing to fix there. but i only played those games. Valley, on the otherhand, was a stutter mess but i don't play that anymore.

I would agree with the consensus and what a few others are saying.

AMD's drivers are pretty good and stable these days, and I would also go further than that and say, I have had 3 or 4 different AMD GPU's in the last year alone, I also have an Nvidia Kepler GPU.

I have had no problems with the AMD GPU's, the AMD Drivers or the Nvidia Kepler GPU, but I have seem graphical glitches and crashes from the series of Nvidia drivers we have had over the past 6 months.

Divers have their ups and downs on both sides, and at this moment AMD's drivers are defiantly better, infact they are more stable than I have seen any driver from any side in a long time.

AMD did get a lot of stick for their drivers in the past, deservingly so perhaps, they have worked hard at fixing them, and the result is fabuless. smile.gif

I'm on my 3rd AMD card and have only had trouble with 1 driver (a beta a year ago) that BSOD. Rolled back and no issue. I will buy AMD my next round too, unless NVIDIA pull out a great price/performance winner in the upper-middle class cards that I usually go for.
