Need a PCI express for my logitech 2.1 $150 speakers

can someone give me some recommendations for a pci express sound card. It's going to be for a set of $150.00 logitech speakers. I don't play music way loud. I'm upgrading from a asus xonar dg. The xonar was decent. I want to spend around $50.

The DG is excellent for its price. So I don't see you getting a worthwhile upgrade for only a little more than the DG.

Using a set of Logitech speakers, it's not gonna make much difference rolleyes.gif

(I have experience with 2.1 logitech speakers, a custom 2.1 speaker setup and high end headphones)

Listen to the others, I would say onboard is good enough until you get some serious speakers. Serious as in at least $300+.

Then what's my best option $50 wise? Creative and asus pci-e.

I don't play music loud because of neighbors. I just want a card that sounds good for my THX certified speakers. Preferably paypal and shopper if possible.

Still I would say you're not going to get an "upgrade" for $50 nor would there be any real quality difference aside from possibly a placebo affect but if you're set on getting a sound card then it would be a asus dgx, which is just the pcie version of the dg. You can't expect much at $50 but it's without a doubt still considered better than your onboard but even at the very least it's beyond what even $150 speakers would require.

You can get an Asus Xonar DGX, which is just a pci-e DG. But it's also like twice the cost (around $50).

Edit: The Creative Z will be $80-$85
