Hey all,

This is my first ever official build log, and to coincide, it is also my first ever watercooling build... tongue.gif

~ FUSION ~

First up, we have the TJ07, this was originally owned by Falloutboy, and his build thread can be viewed here.

Then it moved on to Caffiene Dealer whose build log is located here.

Props aside, now it is my turn... devil.gif

Haha.
  • Current:
  • i7-2600k (hoping for 5ghz)

  • BP stop fittings
  • Koolance QDC's
  • Tap to aid in draining.
  • 2x Samsung 840 120gb in Raid 0

Ok, so, pictures?

This is how I received it, don't mind the Christmas tablecloth, it is down to protect the card table until I can get a proper workspace thumb.gif

Moar?

FOB's custom front plate.

Custom backing plate for the rad in the drive bays, made by FOB (I should trademark this...)

First mod in anticipation of installing some acrylic.

Some other goodies.

Test fitting the GPU's and soundcard, if you can see it tucked away in there.

That's it for now, I've just made an order at FCPU, so that is expected to be a few weeks.

Shall keep you updated when I can, though I expect this to be a slow build rolleyes.gif

Thanks for looking.

Cheers,

Ishi

Subbed!
And a Rep+ for starting a nice build log.thumb.gif
Good idea posting links for the two previous build logs, I've seen FOB's, of course, but not the other, although I do look at OCAU occasionally.
That's a good rad, the Alphacool 480 UT60. The 580's look great with those Aqua blocks. All good stuff!

Hopefully you don't get dinged too badly for shipping and duty ordering from the states.
Even here in Canada, we get charged dearly for buying from the US. I often have no choice, PPC and Frozen have seen a lot of orders from me.

Well, that case sure has an interesting history, perhaps look at it like a kind of heritage!
Your turn to make it what you want, and I figure you'll hang on to it for a good while!

First of many deliveries from FCPU.

The bolts on the right hand side are a hellova lot darker in person then what they appear in the photo, the photographed colour is what I was after, but the darker colour will do.

Before

After
P1010407_zps6d7f73ac.jpg

Removed the slot covers on my 580's and X-Fi Xtremegamer and gave them their first coat of paint.

Weapon of choice
P1010409_zpsd2af2023.jpg

Ive also painted the IO shield and my SLI bridge (can be seen in first pic).

I recently rebought a fan controller that was used in FOB's modding of the case (next to the PSU) but was on sold by Caffiene Dealer. It recently comw up in another sale on OCAU so I snapped it up.

Since I have a UT60 480 in the base, there is no longer enough space for it.

Soooo, I have an idea to kill two birds with one stone.

P1010410_zpse0e5e519.jpg
P1010411_zps86d97604.jpg

Ive never been a fan on 92mm fans, so I am looking into either buying a modded backplate they already has the fans deleted, or using the acrylic from the PSU cover and making up a new piece without the fan controller nob holes in it, this also depends on whether the piece of acrylic is sufficient.
Ill also make a backplate of sorts to hid the pcb and the other benefit will be the covering up of the unsightly silver shields on the IO ports thumb.gif

Ill try to update as much as I can though this is shaping up to be a rather slow build!

Thanks for looking.

Cheers,

The blue scheme with the fittings, etc. looks good, gives it some "pop".
Very unique idea for the fan controller, whether you make a suitable back plate or buy one and mod it.
The dual-92mm. fan layout was just one of Silverstones quirky features meant for air-cooling, back in 2006. I never cared for that either. Luckily, that's easily changed, I bought a "fanless" plate for mine, then cut a single 92mm fan hole, centered for IATX.tongue.gif
But you've got some extra work, to incorporate the fan controller in there.

I see that ChilledPc is out of stock on theirs, that's where I bought mine, but that was over a year and a half ago. I didn't know about ColdZero then, but was glad to discover CZ shortly after.
I purchase all of my TJ07-specific parts from ColdZero now. They have a fanless version in stock:
www.coldzero.eu/backplates/1344-tj07-backplate-atx-clear.html
As well as many other versions, and any customization needed.

Cheers for that.

I see they stock custom 580 backplates also, very cool, will have to see about them doing up a custom one for me!
