I'm getting tired of my slow processor in my old Acer Aspire 5930G and I'm also considering putting an SSD in there. Anyway, I've figured out the socket (Socket P) and the current processor and I've found a processor that should fit. I found this .pdf file with all the info about the laptop ( and it says CPU type: Intel® Core™2 Duo Mobile Processor P8400 (2.26G), P8600 (2.4G), P9500 (2.53G), T9400 (2.53G), T9600 (2.8G) and CPU package Socket B (P8400, P8600,P9500) and Socket P (T9400, T9600). None of these are the processor I have and I have been looking at the Core 2 Duo T9300 2.5Ghz to replace mine with. Anyone know if this is possible? I mean, it should work since the laptop sold with other 35W moderls. I have a Core 2 Duo P7350 right now at 2.0Ghz

I tried visiting Acers site, but they only answer questions and support for those whose warranty is still active (mine expired maybe 2 years ago lol).

And does anyone know what video cards you can put in there? I can take mine out and if there is a better video card that fits, I'll try to find one.

Here's how my motherboard looks like:
