Overclocking to 4.0 ghz Help

Thread Starter
I just recently did my first build and this is my first time overclocking. I've googled some tutorials and read a little into this, but I was just wondering if there was an "overclock.net" overclock guide, I rather use the information here more than other places.

Here's some specs:

CPU: i5 4670K 3.4 ghz

MB: Asus A87-Pro

RAM: 8gb Corsair Vengence DDR3-1600 L9

GPU: EVGA Geforce 760 superclocked

For other people who have overclocked the i5 4670K, what results have you had? What did you max out at? My goal OC is somehwere between 4.0 - 4.2 ghz, is this reasonable without using too much extra power?

Any comments/adivce are welcome

EDIT: Or if anyone has a suggestion to a very good overclocking tutorial they would recommend, please show and tell

Change cpu volts to 1.2v. Increase multiplier to 42x. Leave everything else default or auto. Run some stability tests, check temps, it should be fine. 4.2 is not an aggressive overclock at all.

Thank you guys so much! Just curious, what would be considered an aggressive overclock?

4.7GHz+, I guess.
Or 1.3-1.35Vcore and above.
