Probably expensive for what it is, but it doesn't look like you have to do much DIY with that.

Otherwise I guess you'll have to go with the 19" screen.

If I understand this correctly, the end product will have a mini-displayport plug, it can be powered from 12V molex, and all I need to do is get a macbook pro retina screen?

His current version uses a full-size DisplayPort plug, and takes a barrel plug, not a Molex.

As an aside, I'm currently in the development stages of a similar product (check mikesmods.com). Suggested features? smile.gif
