Welcome to OCN!

First off, some questions about what you will be using this rig for, gaming? rendering? both? Multiple monitors/ resolution? Cooling for CPU and components?

You do not need 16GB of RAM unless you are going to be doing things like video rendering and things that require a lot of multitasking. If you are just going to be gaming, 8GB is more than enough.

850W PSU is overkill for that rig, you could get away with a 650W PSU, unless, down the line you want to add another 7970, then stick with the 850W for the overhead room. Also, that CPU is a power hog, especially if you OC it, which I am assuming you want to. If you do want to OC it, get a good Closed Loop Cooler, something along the lines of a Corsair H100i, something with a good 240mm Rad.

The Samsung 840 Pro is the fastest SSD out there right now, I don't know about the Corsair SSD's at all, but I know that the Samsung 840 Pro is a solid unit. You could save some money and get a WD Blue HDD, they are single platter and still 6Gb/s which makes them quieter and a bit faster than the Black, the 5 year warranty is just a gimmick since the Blue still comes with a three year warranty.

The Sabertooth is a solid MoBo, good choice there. Pretty sure it comes with a four SATA cables, so I do not know why you added one into your list of parts since you only have one SSD and one HDD listed.

I do not know about the HiS cards, I know that Sapphire makes great cards with good OC potential and good cooling. Just do some research on that before you invest that much money.

Either Corsair case will be good. If you want to look at different brands I would check out Cooler Master as well.

Overall it looks like a good build that will be a beast once you get it put together. Cheers.

An extra sata cable is always good to have. Even though he already has 4 of them.

The HiS cards did better during the 6xxx series than Sapphire. I'm not that into HiS, but as you state. Sapphire has some good clocks and cooling for good prices. (And especially if you're going multiscreen's since they have one of the only stable 7970's with 6 GB's according to tests).
