At this point, I can't even pull stuff off the resource disc because anytime I click on something it kicks me out to the log in screen.

It's a shame. The products are solid, but Alienware's quality control is terrible. I hope that Dell uses some of the revenue from its cost-cutting to improve QC.

If you live in the US, tweet @DellCares or PM an Alienware representative on the Notebookreview.com forum.

You almost have a gaming laptop! Your score is a little more than a ultralight notebook....
Honestly it sound like your 780m isnt going to 3d clocks and is stuck in 2d mode.

I can't download anything to this laptop. I can't click on anything. The few times I'm even able to bring up a prompt it flickers so much I can't even see where the "apply" button is and then it will kick me out to the log in screen.

I called Dell today to tell them RMA this POS and give me a full refund. UPS is picking it up tomorrow.

Goodbye Dell/Alienware. I thought I could come back and give you a 2nd try but the only part where you haven't disappointed is the part where I knew you'd utterly fail.

Anyone have suggestions on a kick ass gaming laptop that doesn't look hideous?

If you still have the laptop I wanna just make sure. Did you use ur laptop on battery while benching?? I think you should use in on AC not on battery when benching and/or gaming.

I own a Sager/Clevo and it is an awesome machine. The Optimus takes some getting used to and I had to manually go through the Nvidia CP and select which GPU I wanted to use with nearly every program. To me it sounds like you have a bad dGPU and whenever you go to use it it stops working and reverts back to the iGPU. That is a pain because you likely have to RMA the whole machine and have them swap it out (depending on the socket and if it is soldered to the MB) or send you a new machine. If you do decide to get a refund check out the new Sager machines, they are very reasonable and can be totally customized. The new Sager NP9130 has dual GTX 780Ms in SLI for under $1700 to start, just to give you an idea. I absolutely love mine, it is a well built and reliable machine. Although I don't game on it much now that I built my new desktop.
