Weird 7950 overclocking issues - Page 5

Did you do some experimenting on BF3 and what not with the stock settings to make sure that it isn't acting up again? We should take this one step at a time thumb.gif

We gotta seduce that perty little card into the OC we want it to heart.gifwink.gif haha

Yeah, I've been on BF3 for a while, running totally normal. It crashed once, but that's probably cause I had memory on 1400, before I had only stability tested core and it was running crash free on 1150. Not having any weird throttling issues at all now.

Good! As for the MSI AB and not getting a higher core OC, not too sure on that. I'm guessing possibly that voltage will need to be unlocked on AB, which is done under the settings menu. Someone else might need to chime in on this, as I too am a beginner GPU OC'er.

Voltage remains locked even if I change AB settings, it did this with my 6950 too. The only way I can change voltage is through trixx, it's on 1.3 right now.

1.3 is water territory. do not go over 1.25 for air.2cents.gif

You sure? My temps are in check. I'll lower it for now at any rate since it is probably stable on just 1100 at 1.25 anyway.

is up to you but seeing you can't monitor the vrms' temps . . . i recommend staying on the safe side.
