PC Audio Crackling

post #1 of 3
Thread Starter
So the other Day I was playing Far Cry 3 on my PC, when I started hearing something like a crackling sound. I figured it was probably just the audio in the game. Started to play some other games and kept hearing it. Checked my Headphones to see if it was maybe my monitor or the cable I was using, but Im still hearing the crackling with my headphones on.
The Noise only seems to be happening when there actually is some audio being produced.

I thought I read somewhere someone saying it could be the CPU,but idk

PC:
ASUS Sabertooth Z87
Intel 4740k

Monitor - Samsung LN40B650 with 3.5mm cable
Headphone - Tritton connected with USB

Please Help me get rid of this, its becoming very annoying now. Because Im aware of the issue and hear it every few seconds.

Which connections did you try?
PC-->HDMI-->TV-speakers?
PC-->HDMI-->TV-->3,5mm headphones?
PC-->3,5mm headphones?
PC-->USB-headphones?

If the crackling comes with both the TV-speakers and USB-headphones, there is something wrong with the software/drivers/windows.

And some more info about your rig wouln't hurt, like:
Any overclocks?
GPU (the GPU handles HDMI sound)?
PSU?

PC --> 3.5MM --> TV Speakers
PC --> USB --> Headphones

No overclocking
NVidia GTX 670 FTW does support HDMI but I don't use it.
