ASUS R500A - Graphics Upgrade

Thread Starter
I have an ASUS R500A. I was wondering where I could find a compatibility list of Graphics cards and possibly an instruction guide on how to install it.

This is the link with all the specs at ASUS:
http://www.asus.com/au/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/R500A#specifications

Many thanks!

First, welcome to OCN!

Second, your laptop, unless stated specifically that it supports graphics cards, will only run on the Integrated Graphics from Intel's CPU (Intel HD Graphics 4000).

You can only upgrade laptop video cards if they are MXM slot. Even so dissipating heat generated from higher end models could be an issue. Also MXM GPUs are insanely expensive.99% of the time, a laptop's graphics chip cannot be upgraded. I DO NOT recommend disassembling your laptop unless you are completely willing to ruin it. Again DO NOT DISASSEMBLE YOUR LAPTOP UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO RUIN IT! IT WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY!

Now, if you do want to check inside it, there is probably a tutorial on youtube to help you with it.

Do so at your own risk.
