Best price for performance AM3+ MoBo

Curious as to what the best price for performance AM3+ MoBo is now a days
i generally stick with ASUS but i also like Gigabyte

I'm building a gaming rig for my woman and i just need a MoBo and GPU...
she plays pretty undemanding games like WoW, Sims and a few others along those lines but i'd like to future proof as much as possible without breaking bank.

While i'm here, anyone know the best price for performance nVidia card is?
i know it's an AMD thread but i figured i could sneak this one in smile.gif
thanks in advance for your assistance

For the motherboard, check out either the Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3, or the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3. As for the GPU, the Nvidia Geforce GTX 760 seems to be the best bang for the buck right now.

damn...guess i was right about the GPU...wasn't trying to spend that much but i guess i'll be saving in the long run
alright well at least the MoBo isn't too bad...i was originally going to get the CH-V Formula Z just cuz i like my CH-V but it looks like i'll save a little there

thanks for the assist! rep+

Its worth it to check out the 7870 tahiti LE 2gb. I think that is the best price/performance/future-proofing currently across the entire GPU range. Its basically a 7950 for ~220 (and less if you sell the amd game bundle).

If you prefer a 990X motherboard, the ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 is $105 after the promotion and rebates. If you're not interested in rebates, the price with just the promotional discount is $125.99. Free shipping is included.

for GPU the GTX 760 and 7870 tahiti LE 2gb are worth the buy i perfer the GTX 760 tho

as for motherboard if you plan to overclock you cpu fullest n have a SLi support you need a 8+2 phase VRM motherboard and a x8/x8 or x16/x16 PCI-e support motherboard i would say a Gigabyte 990FX-UD3 or the AsRock 990FX Extreme 4 both are for 140$ right now
personally i like the VRM cooling with that fan wink.gif
Hope that helped thumb.gif

For simple games you can just throw in a 7770/7850/650ti and call it good. You don't need a GTX 760 to run WoW.
