it's that man's choice to buy what he wants, his finances.
and to be honest I don't blame him after my last experience with HD Radeon.
better gameplay and especially if he goes SLI one day.

what's the rest of the proposed rig specs and budget.?
I see it's contingent on the GPU purchase...

Thread Starter
My initial plan was as follows:

initial my budget was $700, now its $1100 with monitor and maybe some new speakers and the rest of the hardware. I gotta be honest, i'm not 100% sure im going to buy the gaming desktop, I traded down my m18x to an m17x to expand my gaming pc budget, but I don't game nearly as much as I used to, but I miss having a decent desktop.

3570k or a cheaper non OCing quad $185-210
z77 mITX motherboard (asrock, msi or gigabyte with wifi) $110
2x4gb DDR3 $60
Silverstone Fortress FT-03 mini $130
Silverstone 450w SFX PSU $95 will likely need to change if I do go for SLi. the PSU calc says its enough for 1 gpu.
Corsair H70 cooler for CPU $40
some nvidia GPu $250-300
Some 24-27" monitor 1080p-1440p $300-$400

This is currently making it difficult to find a decent monitor, I will probably end up paring back the case to something more in the $80 area, or even as cheap as $40 for a Silverstone sugo 05 mitx case, whatever it is, I want it to be small form factor. I guess the consensus is spend $250 on a single gtx 660 ti or gtx 760? even though I can get some serious performance out of those 650 ti boosts?

Already have:

Windows 7 Home Premium
SSD
2.5" mechanical drive
Have speakers/headset
