Obsidian 650D Side Mesh Panel Fan Choices

Thread Starter
So I've just upgraded to the 650D from a 400R and was wondering what I should go with on my side panel. I already miss my dual fans on the 400R cooling my VRMs a small amount. My first question is: what can fit here? Is that a 200mm slot and 4x120mm slots? Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

If so, which would be better for my VRMs? My GPU has an aftermarket cooler that doesn't get above 60°C, so I don't need air for the GPU.
I have a spare 200mm fan right now since the case came with one up top (removed it for my radiator). The other 200mm fan by the HDDs feel like it moves quite a bit of air, so if I'm not going to see a large difference between this and a set of 120mm, then I'll save my money and invest in that SSD I've been wanting for a while. I would probably head to my local MC and pick up some $10-$15 fans, or I can use the two on my other case and pick up some Corsair fans (blue box, something like AF120).

While I'm asking about fans, What would be some good replacement fans for my H100. I actually only need 1 replaced, but if it can help me get a better OC, then I'll replace both and use on side panel.

I know for radiators it is about static pressure, and I think for case airflow it's about volume moved. I'm not looking to spend $20 on every fan, unless it will drastically improve temperature all around.

EDIT: If it would work... I might get a mesh screen and grill for the 200mm and put on the outside with the 4x120 on the inside. Would the overlapping fans cause any problems with the airflow?

Looks like a 200mm slot, OR, 4x 120mm's

I would put the spare 200mm on the side and just see what the temps are, its not a hard install, and would tell you what your lookign for, however its noise will be quite a bit lower than 4x 120 mm fans (on average)

As for replacement fans, look at Scythe AP-15 Gentle Typhoons, or Cougar fans (my personal preference is the Gentle Typoons)

Do not put a 200mm on the outside, with 4 on the inside, it will have competing airflow and cause more harm than good cooling wise.

I'm guessing radiator fans are going to be a lot more expensive than case fans. I have been suggested the Scythe before, and I have seen plenty of other threads where they were the favorite. Any suggestions for case fans? I don't care about noise - my speakers and ambient noises are louder than any part of my computer. Should I just get some generic/basic bans for the case if I don't like the 200mm?

Also: I have to order the mesh, waiting for my new bank card to get activated.

For just case fans, I personally prefer using Scythe Slip Streams. They are quite, and move more than enough air to cool components. Ive got some that are coming up on 3 years straight run time, and still are as good as the day I got em.
