Media Server for the House, HTPC for the living room. Suggestions?

Thread Starter
Here's the issue: I'm currently using my sig rig as homegroup media server, and a living room HTPC. The issue now, is that it's too much of a power hog to me working 24/7 the way it is.

(Probably the case I want to go with)

What I'm looking to do is make a new HTPC that can handle 4K video, once the time comes, and can do it in the smallest thermal envelope possible. I'll need at least 7 or 8 SATA ports, but it doesn't matter if they're SATA 2 or 3. PCI SATA cards or whatever work too. I have no bias between Intel and AMD.
I don't mind spending a bit extra for quality parts. I won't be needing a keyboard, monitor, mouse, or hard drives.
Ideally this build won't require a graphics card, since the big idea here is to create a very power friendly, always on, HTPC. Still, any suggestions are welcome.

I can not find any info about playing video at 4K resolutions with Richland APU's, but it can play games at 4K, so I do not see why it wouldnt work for video at 4K. And with the A85X chipset your can get 8 SATA 6 ports.
