New 780 causes PSU to buzz

I have an odd problem. I have an Antec TP750 running my computer. Have been for about two years. Prior to ordering my EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX, I had an EVGA 480GT. That card draws much more power than the current 780 does. The problem is when running games the 780 causes my PSU to make a buzzing sound. Not a high pitch squeel, more like if a small piece of plastic is barely stuck in the fan (like those plastic connectors that they use to pin a pair of socks together in the store).

I am not sure the problem, as the new card should draw less power than the old one. I never had psu issues before, no random reboots or shutdowns. Just a very annoying noise now. Thoughts?

Sounds like coil whine...I get it too with mine. I don't notice it that often but during the 3dmark ice storm its really bad. The sound changes as the scene changes. From what I read...it's harmless and should become less noticeable as the card "breaks in".

I thought so too, I checked out some videos on youtube and they all had high pitched noises on the video card, mine is more of a 'zzzzzz' not an 'eeeeee' and is coming from the psu.

Yeah mine is definitely more high pitched like I have seen in the videos as well. The biggest thing that I notice about it though is the sound intensity and pitch change with the scenes changing. Does your card do that too or have more of a constant buzz?

It's louder under strain. I loaded up Guild Wars 2 and max settings it was louder than at min settings.

I suppose the only way to really know is switch out the PSU if you have a backup and see if it goes away....but not everyone has an extra one laying around.

Cant think of anything else it could be, prob not a bad idea to check the Antec forums and see if anyone else has the same issue.
